How we work for you
We are an independent broker: we don't sell electricity, we negotiate for you. Here is every step, what we do and the little you have to do.
You tell us where you live
Your address, who bills you and roughly what you pay. A photo of the bill by WhatsApp, text or email is even faster: it carries your provider, your rate, your meter (ESI ID) and your month-by-month usage.
We compare against your real usage
Ads compare at exactly 1,000 kWh. We run your real 12 months against the plans available in your ZIP code, including delivery charges, minimum fees and usage credits.
We explain it and you decide
We send the recommended plan, the estimated savings and the exit fee if there is one. In plain language. If you're better off staying put, we tell you.
We make the switch and watch it
We sign the switch, confirm the date with the provider and review your bill every month. Before your contract expires we already have the next option ready.
Who you're dealing with
My name is Alejandro. I'm an engineer, and I've spent more than ten years keeping manufacturing plants running here in Texas. My job, every day, is the same one: find where the money is leaking out of a big, complicated system, and fix it.
One day I ran that same analysis on my own electricity bill. I was paying hundreds of dollars a year more than I had to, purely for picking the wrong plan and not understanding how the system works. If it happened to me, and this is what I do for a living, it is happening to a lot of people.
That is why Affordable Kilowatts exists: the same review I run on a plant, for your house, explained in plain language.
We are a broker registered with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), registration BR250002. That means we work for the customer, not for the providers.
